HOWELL ROTARY’S VIRTUAL TOUR DE LIVINGSTON 2020

Flattening out Covid-19, Stay Safe and Stay in Motion

This year marks the 13th Year of the Howell Rotary’s Tour de Livingston! Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, we are offering our annual Tour De Livingston charity biking event in a Virtual Edition. This will promote a safe & healthy environment while helping us to support our cause. The need for basic needs support in our community has increased over the last couple of months. Howell Rotary is committed to continuing our mission to support those vulnerable in our community. The Livingston County United Way basic needs programs need our help, now, more than ever.
We are offering multiple options for our annual ride. Whether you want to join us on our favorite, hand-picked routes or have your own favorite neighborhood route to ride through…feel free to ride as you please.

We are looking to keep the essence and purpose of this event the same as always but with some added flexibility. You will be able to complete your ride anytime between September 4th-8th, 2020.

COST IS ONLY $20 TO PARTICIPATE!
ALL PROCEEDS GO TOWARD THE BASIC NEEDS PROGRAMMING FOR LIVINGSTON COUNTY UNITED WAY!

Things To Know:

•  Riding with a Purpose! Participating in the 2020 Virtual Tour de Livingston will raise funds to support our local community via Livingston County United Way Basic Needs programming.
•  If you are looking to make a bigger impact look to become a JERSEY RIDER! Raise or pay $250 and you are a Jersey Rider and you receive a COMMEMORATIVE 2020 JERSEY!
•  As always, we strive to provide a fun and safe environment for bike enthusiasts to enjoy biking while serving a purpose and staying fit & healthy.
•  Instead of focusing on tasks around a live one-day event, the focus will be on flexibility of routes that suit our rider’s needs, social media sharing and overall having FUN and staying fit!

Who should participate in TDL?

•  Returning TdL bikers and/or Experienced Riders: Our virtual ride provides seasoned bikers with a flexible alternative to our traditional ride at a lower cost without the constraints of having to train and ride on specific dates.
•  First-timers/novice riders: Our virtual ride can provide the perfect stepping stone to a live event and help new bikers build the confidence they need to enter a ride in the real world (in the future).
•  Supporters that want to support the riders via our fundraising site!

About TDL

The Tour de Livingston ride provides an opportunity for our riders to enjoy outstanding fall colors during the peak color season in southeast Michigan. This fully supported ride includes hospitality tents, a full breakfast, snacks along the route, and a hearty meal prepared by the chef at Mt. Brighton. All proceeds from this event help to: bridge the gap for local hardworking families struggling to meet their most basic needs; prepare every child to be ready for success; and build a healthy community for all residents via the Livingston County United Way Basic Needs Programs.

Since its start in 2008, the Tour de Livingston has raised over $400,000 to address the community’s most critical needs! The Tour de Livingston is organized and run by the Howell Rotary Club. The Howell Rotary Club was established in 1924. More information about the Howell Rotary Club can be found at: www.howellrotary.org.

Livingston County is conveniently located 30 minutes north of Ann Arbor, Michigan, 45 minutes northwest of Detroit, and 30 minutes east of Lansing, Michigan. All routes originate at the Mt. Brighton Ski area (located at 4141 Bauer Road, Brighton, Michigan 48116). Choose a 5, 10, 20, 38, 62 or 100 mile route – or bring the family for the Family Fun Loop. All distances are approximate. Routes will be well marked with large route markers on pavement. Final routes and maps will be distributed the morning of the ride. (Note: Tour organizers reserve the right to make changes to routes based on construction and other factors beyond our control.)

Thank you for all that participated! We look forward to seeing you again in 2019! Thanks to our Jersey Riders who raised about $12,000 in 2018!

Thank You
